Wenk Associates worked with the City of Longmont to develop a master plan for the seven-mile reach of the St. Vrain River within the city's confines. The long-term strategy and vision contained within the plan is to create an extensive Greenway which incorporates trails, habitat and river enhancement, parks, and trailheads surrounding the river corridor. The plan emphasizes a balance between recreation and natural area preservation to create a multi-dimensional amenity. The firm developed a more detailed design development plan for the urban portion of the river corridor, which was used in identifying and prioritizing yearly construction projects.
