Wenk Associates is developing the site plan and landscape design for a new Gold LEED certifiable student union building on the Fort Lewis Campus. Challenges include the reconfiguration and appearance of the central campus quad as the foreground to the new student union; routing of new pedestrian walkways and service/emergency routes; and a creating a sustainable landscape that minimizes water consumption, treats stormwater runoff and blends the campus environment with the dramatic natural landscape of the area. Work is ongoing and includes conceptual design through construction documentation.
