The new Barbara Davis Center, on the Fitzsimons Campus of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, expands the capabilities of this nationally recognized diabetes facility. Wenk Associates prepared landscape and site design services. A garden based on a native plant palette complements outdoor areas for gathering. Informal seating and opportunities for informal play integrate the building and landscape where the “playhouse” opens onto the garden.

The siting and massing of the building and the design of the landscape respond sensitively to existing tree locations, view corridors, and adjacent historic structures while providing for full accessibility and ease of visitor use.
