Salt Lake City Green Loop wins Merit Award for Analysis and Planning

Wenk won a Merit Award in Analysis and Planning from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Colorado-Wyoming chapter, recognizing our innovative work on the Salt Lake City Green Loop master plan. The Green Loop, a 5.5-mile circuit of linear green space in downtown Salt Lake City, is proposed to overhaul downtown transit, mitigate the heat island effect, improve air quality, increase habitat for pollinators, and provide critical ecosystem services such as stormwater management.
Wenk has enjoyed working with Salt Lake City on this imaginative journey, and we are excited to begin the Green Loop implementation along 500 West. The Green Loop project breaks through the perceived limitations of what a concrete-locked downtown can be in the future and completely changes the paradigm from a city that primarily serves car commuters to a place that offers enjoyment to workers, residents, and visitors.
