Wenk Associates Certified as a Women Business Enterprise!
Wenk Associates (Wenk) has been officially certified as a Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MWBE), a Small Business Enterprise (SBE), and a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) through the City and County of Denver Division of Small Business Opportunity (DSBO).
Nicole Horst, President of Wenk since 2020, with over 25 years of experience, oversees and often manages the firm’s complex park, open space, greenway, and municipal projects. She develops strategies to push through complicated environmental, political, and community challenges and builds departmental and community consensus to support project goals and outcomes. “Nationally, only about 15 percent of landscape architecture firms are led by women, so I am proud to have this recognition from DSBO as a women-owned business. I am excited that this designation will expand the work we do and support the development of future female and minority leaders in this industry.”
Wenk has a 40-year history and tradition of cutting-edge water resource planning and sustainability. Over the years, Nicole and Vice-President Greg Dorolek have overseen and are working on many significant and impactful projects, including the Salt Lake City Green Loop, Grand Rapids’ Grand River Corridor, Denver’s Ball Arena redevelopment, Steamboat Resort Base Area Burgess Creek Promenade, and multiple parks along Denver’s South Platte River including Confluence Park and Arkins Park and Promenade.
