The Source Hotel
Denver, COA sunken rain garden creates a unique courtyard for the first boutique hotel in Denver’s River North neighborhood.
The Source Hotel was the first boutique hotel of its kind to surface in the rapidly transforming River North (RiNo) Arts District in Denver. The 100-key hotel includes over 50,000 SF of market hall and restaurants on the ground floor and builds on the popularity of the adjacent Source Market.
Wenk’s work included the design of an entry courtyard that links the existing Source Market to the new marketplace and hotel. An industrial pedestrian bridge floats over water quality treatment for stormwater runoff that supports a natural landscape and trees. The 8th-story pool bar and deck overlooking Downtown Denver and the mountains provide a spectacular space for events and will serve as a hip night spot for locals and hotel guests. The design utilizes honest and simple materials that reflect RiNo’s industrial past, merged with a landscape expression that is of the South Platte River Valley.
